Regis University Las Vegas

- Fall 2007

First Night Assignments

First night assignments are a mandatory part of the College for Professional Studies at Regis University. If the class overview for your class includes a first night assignment, it is important that you collect the assignment. The inclusion of a first night assignment helps Regis maintain its academic standards while offering classes in an accelerated format. First night assignments that are not turned in on time will be subject to the same "late work policy" you apply to the other assignments in your class.

The Big Move!
    - Our New Summerlin Campus

Calling All Parents!

Regis University maintains a No Unsupervised Children on Campus policy. Children are not permitted in classrooms, nor can they be left of campus without adult supervision - for example, sitting outside the classroom, in the break room, or in the reception area. We expect our faculty to observe this policy. If you have a student who attempts to bring a child into the classroom, please notify the front desk. Thank you for your cooperation.

Post Materials for Your Students Online

Get started by contacting ITS and requesting space on the academic server - usually an email will work fine: its@regis.edu. Affiliate faculty has access to "academic" web space and can build their own websites with course information they would like their students to access.

Want Your Students to Do Research
Out of a BOOK Rather than Websites?

    - Tell Them About Our New
      Library Agreements!

Regis Library has maintained an agreement with UNLV the past several years, which allowed Regis students to use Lied Library and to have 10 books checked out from UNLV at any one time. Given the low number of Regis students who took advantage of this arrangement we have decided to terminate our contract with UNLV the end of August 2007.

The agreement we have with the Paseo Verde Public Library in Henderson will remain in effect. In addition, we have initiated an agreement with the College of Southern Nevada (formerly the Community College of Southern Nevada) so that Regis students will have the same library rights and privileges there that they previously had at UNLV. The Charleston campus of CSN, located at 6375 W Charleston Blvd, is a few miles from the Regis Summerlin campus. The Henderson campus of CSN is located at 700 College Drive. In order to check out materials from the CSN libraries, make sure to identify yourself as a Regis student.

As a Regis student registered with CSN libraries, you will no longer be able to check books out directly from UNLV. However, if there are UNLV books you need, CSN will be able to get them for you quickly through interlibrary loan. If you would prefer instead to maintain your direct borrowing privileges at UNLV, you can set up an account there as a community borrower using your valid state ID and a major credit card.
