Bachelor of Science - Accounting

Accounting is central to effective management of business enterprises and is a key component in the proper functioning of the free market system. The 128-hour Regis University Undergraduate Accounting program is designed for students wishing to pursue careers in professional accounting.


Bachelor of Science - Applied Psychology

The major in Applied Psychology is designed for students aspiring to work in human services area and for those already working in the field who wish to gain greater knowledge and skill. Sources contribute to career preparation in: criminal justice, domestic violence programs, adolescent or substance abuse counseling, and human services. Courses offer both theoretical foundations through readings and lectures, as well as practical application in different occupational settings through case studies, visits by guest lecturers, and community projects.


Bachelors of Applied Science

Designed to serve community college students who have earned an associate of applied science degree and wish to pursue a baccalaureate degree, students can transfer up to 98 credit hours to meet the 128-hour degree requirement. The degree provides the management, leadership, critical thinking, writing and communication skills necessary to broaden career horizons. It provides broad cognitive skills and perspectives associated with baccalaureate education that are relevant to any work environment.


Bachelor of Science - Business Administration

This 128-hour program offers well-rounded academics in all phases of business. Learning formats include 5 and 8-week accelerated classes. Students may also augment classroom study with online courses. Three emphasis areas are available:

Bachelor of Science - Business Technology Management

The Bachelor of Science in Business Technology Management (BTM) is a unique Regis University College for Professional Studies (SPS) 'hybrid' degree that combines business, Information Technology (IT), and management. BTM will use a combination of business and technology courses offered at Regis SPS that allows students to earn a well-rounded education in both Business and IT.

Recent industry research indicates that there is an increasing need for IT professionals to understand the business domain. Studies show that project planning and budgeting, leadership, and management are the needed skills for the business technology leaders of the 21st century.

The BTM student will graduate with a unique blend of business and IT skills that will prepare them for future business management jobs. The business skills will provide a breadth of knowledge in the areas of accounting, managerial concepts, applied business concepts, all levels of management skills, business finance, marketing, process improvement, and organizational behavior. The technology skills will provide the necessary knowledge of computer networks, database concepts, systems analysis and design, IT ethics, IT project management, management information systems, and decision support and executive systems.

A Bachelor of Science in Business Technology Management will provide the students with the skills needed to pursue employment opportunities as:

Bachelor of Arts - Communication

Communication studies prepare students for a variety of career opportunities including organizational leadership, human resources, and public relations. Students develop skills for doing public presentations, leading group meetings, and creating written documents. Courses in interpersonal and organizational communication, strategic leadership, intercultural communication, negotiation, conflict management, and public relations campaigns prepare students for the challenges of management in both profit and non profit organizations. Courses involve both theory and practice so that students develop knowledge about communication and skills for communicating effectively. Some courses provide service opportunities where students are able to use their skills to improve their communities. In addition, students may develop areas of emphasis for which they receive certificates including conflict management, human resources, criminal justice, public relations, practical psychology, or high performance management. The Communication major helps students to improve their relationship skills in both personal and professional lives as well as prepare them for advancements in their careers. Bachelor of Science - Criminology

Careers in Law Enforcement and Investigation are experiencing tremendous growth, yet more agencies than ever are requiring formal education to meet the demands of a more complex world. Discover the exciting industry of crime scene investigation, forensics, and police work with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology degree from Regis University College for Professional Studies.

This degree offers a practical, theory-based interdisciplinary education that stresses human behavior, social and cultural dynamics, communication, and leadership. The criminology curriculum addresses the increasingly complex environment in which professionals, associated with crime analysis, law enforcement, public safety and security, the criminal justice system, regulatory agencies and social support, work towards the improvement and transformation of society. Students will be given the option to take graduate level courses at the end of their senior year towards a Master of Arts degree in Criminology.


Bachelor of Arts - Elementary Education

Approved by the State of Nevada Department of Education, this 128-hour program provides the coursework and skills necessary to be licensed to teach in the State of Nevada. Learning formats include 5-week, 8-week, and 16-week courses that combine the academic and practical skills necessary to be an effective educator.


Bachelor of Arts - Liberal Arts

Liberal Arts is a flexible 128-hour degree that invites the learner to explore social science, humanities, literature and fine arts. Learning formats include 5 and 8-week accelerated classes. Online and guided independent study options are also available. Four emphasis areas are available:

Bachelors of Arts - Organization Development

The major objective of the Organization Development program is to introduce students to the best in management practices so that they can pursue careers in a wide variety of organizations such as public or private, profit or non-profit. The degree program introduces the student to the application of acquired knowledge and skill to such areas as human resource management, leadership, and organizational behavior.

Students often enter this program with specialized or technical expertise and find themselves now managing individuals and teams. This program will prepare students for leadership positions within organizations or management of staff departments. It will lay the foundation necessary for entry into graduate programs in Organization Management, Management Science, or Leadership. It is not designed for persons planning to pursue an MBA or high level line management positions.


Bachelors of Science - Public Administration

Today's public employee faces a broad range of challenges ranging from trying to budget accurately to deliver on the services at a level the public expects, despite budget cuts. This comprehensive program includes general education, public sector and technology courses. Emphasis is on providing students with practical solutions to the issues of today and tomorrow by grounding academic knowledge with such skills as problem solving, leadership through service to others, management strategies, and critical thinking skills.

Classes are taught by professionals, working in the fields they teach, who provide a practical link between classroom theory and the realities of the public world. Graduates of the Public Administration Program are qualified for a wide variety of management-related careers in all sectors of government (federal, state, county and city). They also may wish to run for public office or provide services on behalf of the government or use as a foundation for further education leading to a MSM, MPA or another graduate degree.


Bachelors of Arts - Religious Studies

The Religious Studies Major in SPS Undergraduate provides students with a strong foundation in Religious Studies. The Religious Studies major provides four areas of emphasis: an Academic focus which will provide the scholarly background needed by the potential student of Theology who intends to continue his or her studies in graduate school, and a focus in Spirituality which will provide knowledge of spiritual tradition and interpersonal implications of spirituality for students who are either already involved in leadership roles in the spiritual community or who wish to explore their personal spiritual journey. Three Four emphasis areas are available:

Bachelors of Arts - Social Science

The Bachelor in Social Science degree offers a strong basic knowledge of the Social Sciences, promoting community involvement and leadership. This degree provides an excellent background for careers in public service, law, and education and it provides an excellent background for graduate work in any of the emphasis areas below.

Library Students

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Students may choose between General Management or Finance and Accounting tracks in this 30 hour program. The Finance and Accounting track is designed to provide professionals with the skills needed to effectively prepare and use accounting information and financial management techniques in making management decisions. The General Management track incorporates coursework from the various areas within management, including International Business, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management and Leadership. Students may also augment classroom study with online courses. There are foundation courses required that provide the background needed by MBA students. If such courses have been successfully completed in an undergraduate program, the foundation courses may be waived.

In most cases the MBA is a 30 credit hour, 10 course degree which can be completed in less than two years.

The three emphasis areas and course electives provide students with the opportunity to focus their studies to meet their own professional and personal needs. The courses are non-tracked which offers students flexibility with start times, as well as with the number of courses taken during a semester or year.

Students may choose between General Management, Finance and Accounting and Marketing specializations.

The Finance and Accounting specialization is designed to provide professionals with the skills needed to effectively prepare and use accounting information and financial management techniques in making management decisions.

The General Management specialization incorporates coursework from the various areas within management, including International Business, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management and Leadership.

The Marketing specialization integrates classic and leading-edge marketing principles and theories with real world application. Students emerge with a firm understanding of the subtleties and complexities involved in the marketing domain.

Students may also augment classroom study with online courses.

Master of Arts (MA)

The MA degree provides students with an individually designed, multidisciplinary and academically rigorous program. The MA is a student-centered program that enhances students' educational choices for intellectual, professional, and personal growth. The degree is learner-designed and focuses on the achievement of the specific learning objectives and outcomes of each student. It provides a framework for students to plan a course of study unique to their own graduate learning needs. Students, with faculty approval designate an academic specialization that reflects the individualized course of study included in their degree plan.

Master of Arts in Counseling - Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Specialization

The MFT emphasis is a 48 credit hour program that is designed to meet the licensing requirements for the State of Nevada. Due to the intensive nature of the MFT program, all courses are taken in the classroom and the practicum experiences are completed at a clinical site.


Master of Nonprofit Management

INTRODUCTION

The Master of Nonprofit Management program at Regis University is specifically designed to help nonprofit professionals become leaders within the ever-changing and dynamic nonprofit sector.

The MNM Program offers an academically rigorous, conceptually-based, and applications oriented course of study for individuals interested in enhancing their leadership and management capabilities within the nonprofit sector. The MNM Program prepares its graduates to be effective leaders who exhibit professional competency in integrating theory, experiences, and social justice in an effort to promote the advancement of the sector.

Both students and faculty in the program are experienced professionals representing the wide spectrum of nonprofit organizations. Courses include the full range of skills needed to serve the sector more effectively.

An essential part of the Regis University mission is to work toward the service of humanity and the MNM degree strives to achieve this through the 36 credit hours that are required to earn the degree. The Program culminates in one of two capstone courses: Professional Research Project (MNM697) or the Service Oriented Field Experience - SOFE (MNM677). MNM697 involves the creation, development, improvement or evaluation of a product or program or entails the writing of a thesis. MNM 677 SOFE is a field experience which involves travel to an off-campus domestic or international location and service to the nonprofit community in that venue.

The MNM degree program is designed to be completed in 24 months, taking one course at a time. All courses are three semester credit courses.

The Regis University MNM degree program requires the successful completion of a total of 36 semester credits (12 three credit-hour courses).


University Student

Master of Education (M.Ed)

The M.Ed degree without Teacher Licensure is an excellent option for existing teachers who have a bachelor's degree and current teaching certification. Consisting of 36 credit hours, the M.Ed. degree includes five required core courses (15 credit hours), 15 hours of individually designed course work, and two research-related courses (6 credit hours).


Master of Education with Teacher Licensure (M.Ed)

The M.Ed with Teacher Licensure is designed to meet Nevada State licensure requirements in the areas of Administrative Leadership, Elementary Education (K-8), Secondary Education (7-12) and Special Education (K - 12), and Administration. Students in the Master's Teacher Licensure program may be recommended for licensure and begin teaching prior to completing the research requirement. Learning formats include 8-, and 16-week courses that combine the academic and practical skills necessary to be an effective educator. The Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education Generalist programs include 8 credit hours of student teaching. Four emphasis areas are available:

Master of Science in Organization Leadership

This innovative management degree centers on a dynamic model of leadership and organizational change, which encourages students to synthesize leading-edge concepts and their own practical experience. The main thrust of the MSM program is on leading people, developing team players and facilitating change in the work environment. Students develop a broad perspective and through enhanced communication skills work toward process improvement. MSM graduates have the skills to think critically, create vision based on ethical values, discern the future, take risks, become global leaders, and institute change within their organizations. Note

Any student in the Las Vegas program may need to take some coursework online in order to complete studies in a timely manner. Please keep in mind that by doing so, your tuition rate per credit will be at an online tuition rate.

You may pay tuition (or make arrangements to defer tuition payment) from registration through the end of the first week of the academic term. Regis University must receive your payment by the end of that time. Pay all fees at the first payment due date to avoid restriction of future registration.
